Bio of Mark Meurer

Hi! I am Mark Meurer. I was born and raised in the small town of Slaton Texas which is in the Panhandle near Lubbock. I married my high school sweetheart, Gail. We have been married over twenty years. Gail grew up on a farm just down the road from us. I was in the eighth grade when I first knew she was the one for me. We have three children, Jessica, Jason and Bryce. We are very active in our faith community and our own ministries of “helping build God’s Kingdom one person at a time”. One of my favorite scriptures – “Let’s not grow tired on doing good, for in due time we shall reap our harvest, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9

I have spent over twenty years in the financial industry working in some form or capacity with a long list of industry giants that include: Aegon, AIG and Allianz. I have served as an OSJ and Branch Manager for large broker dealer firms. I have consulted and coached agents and companies across the country on recruiting and sales methods. My expertise is training people on how to be more efficient and effective in business. I have recruited thousands of agents to participate in special sales programs.

My background also includes: growing up on a farm, being a disc jockey, promoting entertainment and playing sports. I have coached league baseball and football teams. I also own VIVMARK-talent. VIVMARK-talent manages and promotes contemporary Christian entertainment.

I have been a member of Toast Masters, Lions Club, Kiwanis and several other organizations and boards. I am very fluent with the Internet. Some of my favorite movies include Hoosiers, Rudy, Patton, Alexander the Great, and It’s A Wonderful Life. I am an avid reader and believe in continuing my education by the books I read, classes I attend and the people I meet. One of my favorite sayings – “There is nothing that seeing more people, faster, more efficiently, more effectively, won’t solve. Life is about people!”

In 1989 I put together a marketing system called the Mortgage Lead System, today it is known as the Mortgage Insurance System. My next publication called 78 Secrets of Total Frenzy Marketing is still a hot item today. My most popular systems today are my Internet Insurance System, Mortgage Insurance System and the Agency Enhancement System. I believe that agents need written material to read, audios to listen to and most importantly… a mentoring relationship with the architects and founders of the system. That is what Mark Meurer does!

I am happy to be alive and live in America. I am so proud that my ancestors made the decision to move to America. I could not imagine living in any other country.

What is your favorite business saying?
“There is nothing that seeing more people faster and more efficiently and more effectively won’t solve. Our business is about talking to people.”

How many agents have you trained over the years?
“Thousands… I have shared my coaching and marketing strategies with groups as large as 15,000 at one time.”

How long have you been in the insurance business?
“I started in Oct 1984 and started working nationwide with agents in 1989.”

Has it always been smooth sailing for you?
“Absolutely not! Times are always changing and the way that we do business changes at the same pace. Change is difficult. I feel that is just part of our business. You always have to be growing. If you are green, you are growing. If you are ripe, you are rotting. With the advent of the Internet… our business is changing at the speed of thought.”

What was your first marketing system that you put together?
“In 1989 I put together a marketing system called the Mortgage Lead System, today it is known as the Mortgage Insurance System. Then came my next publication called 78 Secrets of Total Frenzy Marketing.”

What are your most popular systems today?
“My Internet Insurance System, Mortgage Insurance System and Agency Enhancement System.”

What makes you different than all the other sales coaches in this business?
“Most are just out to move their publications and do very little training. We call ours the 3-Legged Stool of Training. We believe that agents need written material to read, audios to listen to and most importantly… a mentoring relationship with the architects and founders of the system. Many times it takes a verbal one-on-one conversation to truly comprehend what to do. Our systems are just tools and it takes people to run the tools.”

What is gives your systems the winning edge?
My systems teach agents how to “see more people faster”. Although you could use my systems face-to-face with customers, my primary focus is teaching agent how to obtain maximum production without seeing the customer at all. I call it “Selling From Your Desk and Never See the Customer.” You deal with prospects and customers by embracing modern tools such and email, websites and the telephone.

How do customers react to this style of business?
Frankly, they love it. People are busy and don’t feel they have time to meet with an insurance agent. Why in the world would any anyone enjoy meeting face-to-face with an insurance agent? This is what gives agents an edge with my systems. They never have to meet face to face with customers. This is also a sign of the times. If agents fail to learn these principals, they are going to get left behind.

What is your passion?
“I love working with agents one-on-one. Helping them discover the little things that make a big difference.”

How old are you?
I am 46 years old.

Have you hit your prime?
No, I feel that I have just begun. I am excited about the next 20 years of my career.

Do you have a family?
Yes, I have been married for 25+ years to my high school sweetheart and best friend. I have 3 wonderful kids.

Do you live in a big metro area?
We used to live in the Dallas, Texas area. We have since moved back to where my wife and I were born and raised to be with all our family.

What do you do when you are not working?
I like to spend time with my family. I am also very involved in my church.
